Just about every gallon of gas pumped today contains as much as 10% ethanol. The ethanol in your vehicle can cause condensation (water) to build up inside the tank due to changes in atmospheric temperature overnight. Your Miles Per Gallon can be calculated by dividing the number of miles you get in one tank of fuel / the number of gallons of gas you need to fill up that tank.

To determine how much you spend on gas, divide you miles per day (or month, or year) by your MPG and then multiply by the cost per gallon.
